The amount is still below India with 9.5 million tons and Vietnam with 7.8 million tons, the number of exports.
The figure was released from the Thai Rice Exporters Association.
And that means that the rice from the white elephant country fell by 35 percent From the total of 2017 yak at 10.6 tons,
In 1920 the white elephant country was indeed the largest exporter in the world Which means that for decades Thailand has been the country that exports the most rice throughout the world .
Thailand is no longer the largest rice exporter in the world
Thailand’s lack of exporters is due to some areas experiencing poverty and making The white elephant country have to prioritize its people rather than having to export rice to the whole world,
And make this country no longer occupy the main level in exporting rice.
Someone from the government said, Now the price of Thai rice is USD 130-150 per ton, more expensive than our competitors.
That is why our exports have fallen because customers are no longer buying from us. This is a sign,
Exporters must change their work methods and policies to survive and rice has now become a political issue.
The Thai Government is working hard to rise
Thailand produces an average of around 20 million tons of rice per year, half of which was exported abroad in the past.
The Thai government predicts that the white elephant country still holds around 12-13 million rice seeds for stock in storage and predicts that in the third quarter of this year rice production will be around 20 million tons.
The government is also trying to re-negotiate with rice buyers on world markets at reasonable prices to improve the living standards of farmers.
